The 3GPP, TD-CDMA Advantage
IPWireless' mobile broadband solutions, which are based on UMTS Release 7, enhance network performance and improve the economics of providing wireless broadband services by:
- Working in a broad range of spectrum, both standard and non-standard. Frequency bands supported include: 450, 700, 825 -921 MHz (various band plans supported), 1900, 2010, 2053, 2300, and 2500MHz
- Requiring only one 5MHz or 10MHz radio channel for a full network deployment
- Supporting state-of-the art inter-cell interference cancellation which eliminates the biggest issue for any cellular system and allows for greater cell edge throughput and high uplink throughput. Many technologies tout high peak performance numbers that really only mean something in lab conditions.
- Ensuring investment protection. IPWireless network solutions are driven by advanced software and are remotely upgradeable. Since TD-CDMA is based on 3GPP standards, it provides a seamless path to LTE as the wireless world evolves to release 8.
- Incorporating code reuse MIMO technology, this significantly improves overall sector capacity and enhances peak network performance by 2x.
- Providing exceptional mobile broadband network coverage in a range of environments including:
- Indoors - good first wall penetration in most building
- Nomadic use
- High speed, mobile vehicles
- Simulataneously supporting a large number of active users and authenticated users for machine to machine applications
- Prioritising applications and user traffic for optimal performance. For example, police, fire services and emergency medical personnel can receive priority over other less time-sensitive data traffic
- Allowing for advanced scheduling Quality of Service (QoS), which provides significant gains in latency and throughput.
IPWireless has developed advanced Intercell Interference Mitigation (IIM) technology where adjacent cell interference in an N=1 frequency reuse network is cancelled by advanced signal processing. With IIM, an N = 1 frequency reuse behaves like an N=3 frequency reuse without additional frequency asset, greatly improving the spectral efficiency of the network.
