IPWireless' LTE Evolution Platform enables mobile operators, rural carriers and government agencies to build flexible, low-cost and high performance broadband wireless networks whether for a multi agency government network (MAGNet) or commercial operator network. The scalable IPWireless Radio Access Network (RAN) architecture can be deployed for small rural community to high capacity city and nationwide networks. The built-in quality of service allows the operator to offer voice and data services and subscriber based Service Level Agreement. IPWireless RAN interfaces with standard IP based infrastructure, greatly reducing the deployment cost and affording the operators a wide selection of IP core network options. The platform is software upgradeable to support a seamless migration to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) when the customer is ready to upgrade their network.
IPWireless Node B Base StationIPWireless V5 NodeB ™ features flexible base station architecture for current and future 3GPP wireless standards. It consists of Software Defined Radio (SDR) baseband processing supporting 3GPP TD-CDMA today and provides a seamless upgrade path to LTE in the future. The IPWireless V5 Node B is a modular architecture consisting of one digital shelf and multiple radio shelves for multiple sectors of cellular deployment. The IPWireless V5 Node B digital shelf is a rack based system consisting of one control card, up to three sector cards and a Universal Gateway Card (UGC). The Universal Gateway Card supports a distributed flat IP architecture, greatly reducing the cost of investment for initial network rollout. The IPWireless V5 Node B Radio shelf can be located close to the antenna or up to 500 meters from the digital shelf using a CPRI fiber interface, eliminating the RF cable loss. Individual sector cards and radio shelves are field replaceable without affecting other sectors in the Node B. | ![]() |

Integrated Network Controller (INC)The IPWireless Integrated Network Controller (INC) is a high performance broadband wireless network controller supporting the international 3GPP TD-CDMA system. The INC integrates the GGSN, SGSN and RNC functions in a compact rack mount hardware, greatly reducing the cost of deploying a broadband wireless network. The INC aggregates Radio Access Network (RAN) data and management traffic from several Node Bs towards a standard IP core network.
ProtocolsOn the gateway network side of the INC, standard Internet Protocols are used, allowing the connectivity of the INC to an IP router. The INC aggregates all user traffic to an IP router and supports traffic prioritization to and from the core network. The INC communicates with RADIUS servers for Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA) via standard RADIUS protocol. On the Radio Access Network side of the INC, 3GPP Iub protocols are used to communicate with the Node B. INC PlatformThe INC is based on a standard NEBS compliant 19" compact PCI rack and built on a fault tolerant operating system. Interface standards supported include Ethernet and E1. | Download the INC datasheet [PDF]» |
IPWireless Element Management System (EMS)The IPWireless Element Management System (EMS) provides configuration management, performance monitoring and alarm/event reporting for the IPWireless TD-CDMA network elements. IPWireless EMS software runs on industry standards servers and communicates with INC and Node B via SNMPv3. EMS clients connect to the EMSserver via standard web browser making remote management of the network possible.
FeaturesThe IPWireless EMS supports configuration management, performance management and fault management of the network elements in the operator's TD-CDMA network. The EMS software uses SNMP to communicate with the INC and Node B. EMS PlatformThe IPWireless EMS runs on a Sun™ server. The operator can choose Sun | Download the EMS Datasheet [PDF] » |
