SOFTWARE ENGINEER

We are currently looking for software engineer with 3yrs+ experience with a relevant degree to be part of our software development team. Candidates will have a working knowledge of some of the following:
 
•    UMTS L1, L2, L3/4 (HSPA) protocol experience
•    UMTS L1 Radio Interface, measurements, transport channel processing
•    RTOS experience -  (ThreadX, OSE preferable), time critical applications
•    Device driver experience - USB, Ethernet, SDIO, PCI X, DPRAM, DMA
•    Strong telecoms knowledge. TCP/IP, VoIP experience also useful
•    Strong C/C++ (required), SDL (preferable), UML


R.F.  ENGINEER

Technical Experience:

                7+ years of experience of base station RF design covering as many of the following as possible:

•    Superhet RF transceiver design in the range of 380MHz to 3GHz.
•    Synthesizer design
•    Low noise LNA design
•    WCDMA modulation
•    Digital Pre-distortion
•    High power PA design
•    Orcad Schematic Entry

Personal Requirements:

•    Self-starter, able to work alone or in small team
•    Able to take responsibility for life cycle of PCB development
      Produce Requirements and High Level Design documents from Product Specification
      Plan and report weekly on development schedule
      Produce schematic diagrams and bill of materials meeting technical and commercial requirements
      Work with 3rd party PCB layout engineers to supervise board layout
      Produce Design Verification document
      Run design verification tests
      Work with manufacturing to specify manufacturing test requirements
      Work with manufacturing to support new product introduction
      Work with global services to support analysis of field returns


CORE NETWORK SYSTEMS ENGINEERS (2 positions)

IPWireless develops end-to-end wireless solutions for commercial, government and defence markets. We are looking for bright, structured thinkers to join an experienced systems engineering team in the UK working on cutting-edge technology.

Essential Assets

•    Strong academic background at least to degree level in a related discipline, PhD preferred  (electronic engineering     signal processing, maths, physics)
•    Verbal and written communication ability
•    Computer skills:
      C / C++ / Matlab
      Office productivity
•    Previous experience (minimum 2 years) within the wireless/telecommunications industry is required

Desirable Skills
•    Exposure to communication systems
      Core Network GPRS/EPC/IP/IMS
      Layer 2/3 experience WiMAX/LTE/HSPA
•    Systems Level Knowledge
      Scheduling
      Mobility
      Security
      QOS
      Technical Sales Support
•    Conceptualisation and documentation skills

The successful candidates may also represent IPWireless at international standardisation meetings and customer sales meetings. Key responsibilities are to promote IPWireless innovation, disseminate information within the design teams and to participate in and drive the overall system design itself. All roles may involve global travel for approximately 6 to 10 weeks per year.
